FROM HIGHWAY 1 TAKE: Highway 68 West. Stay on Highway 68, it enters Pacific Grove and becomes Forest Avenue. Follow Forest Avenue downhill past the Junior High past Pine Avenue past Lighthouse Avenue (Main Downtown Street). One block past Lighthouse Avenue turn left on: Central Avenue and travel two blocks. Centrella Inn is on the right hand side of the road on the corner of Central and 17th Street.

You can walk Monterey*s *Path of History* with the historic old adobes, many with original 18th and 19th century furnishings surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. Most of the buildings are still in use. The walking and biking path follows land*s edge from the Monterey Wharf all the way around through Lover*s Point and on to Pebble Beach. The beautiful Monterey Bay offers great diving, kayaking, deep sea fishing and whale watching in season.

Fisherman*s Wharf with it*s lighthearted collection of shops, kiosks, and restaurants, provides a place where you can watch dinner being unloaded fresh from the fishing boats! The walking and biking path follows land*s edge from the Monterey Wharf all the way around through Lover*s Point and on to Pebble Beach. Cannery Row, made famous by John Steinbeck, has witnessed a resurgence. The old canneries have been restored into shops, galleries and restaurants. At the end of Cannery Row is the Monterey Bay Aquarium! The Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the largest in the nation, is a place to see! Located on Historic Cannery Row, the aquarium is only 5 miles away with a convenient parking garage down the block. You can save yourself a wait in line by purchasing your aquarium tickets at our Front Desk. This is a wonderful aquarium and large enough to at least plan for one whole day there.
