Dubai Museum
Established in 1970, the museum is housed in the imposing 19th century Al Fahidi fort, which once guarded the landward approach to the town. The museum displays a fine collection both from ancient history including copper, alabaster and pottery artifacts found in graves up to 4,000 years old at Al Qusais, and from the years before the discovery of oil including a window to the pearl industry. Dubai World Trade Centre
Location: across the street from The Fairmont Dubai This 39 storey building, the tallest in the Gulf, located on Sheikh Zayed Road, plays host to conferences and major exhibitions and houses the regional offices of several large corporations and multinational companies. Dubai has numerous well-maintained public parks and gardens which are extremely popular hangouts for families with some of them having certain days reserved only for ladies and children. Providing a respite from the urban life, the parks feature a host of recreational facilities including children's playgrounds and swimming pools, camel and pony rides, colourful gardens and manicured lawns, restaurants and cafeterias. Some of the favourite haunts include Al Mamzar Beach Park situated on Al Mamzar Creek at the Dubai-Sharjah border; the Dubai Creekside Park between Al Maktoum and Al Garhoud bridges overlooking the creek; the shoreside Jumeira Beach Park featuring full beach facilities with round- the-clock lifeguard service and a helipad; the large Mushrif National Park on Al Awir Road, past the Dubai International Airport, noted for its miniature International Village featuring different styles of architecture from around the world; and the Safa Park on Al Wasl Road; and Umm Suqueim Park, one of the largest youngster-oriented parks in Umm Suqueim. Location: Wonderland is located near Al Garhoud bridge close to the Dubai Creekside Park.The Wonderland Family Fun Park, divided into three sections, features a wide range of exhilarating water attractions extending over 18 hectares. Deira Creekside
A group of distinctive and remarkable modern buildings are ranged near the purpose -- built dhow wharfage beside the Maktoum Bridge, including the Etisalat Tower, the Department of Economic Development, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The National Bank of Dubai headquarters and Dubai Creek Tower.The Etisalat Tower is topped by a telecommunications dome resembling a giant golf ball ? particularly striking when illuminated at night.The Department of Economic Development is a five-storey building which features delicately designed window screens and massive decorated main doors.By contrast, the neighbouring Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry tower is a dramatic blue glass-faced structure, a symbol of the emirate?s prosperity and forward vision.Nearby is the municipality building, which manages to convey an impression of cool shade through the use of water and screens.The new headquarters of the National Bank of Dubai produces a shimmering reflection of the Creek through its striking use of polished steel and glass. This is also the DTCM?shead office in Dubai.
Dubai Zoo
Location: Located in JumeirahThe Dubai Zoo is the oldest zoo of its kind not only in the United Arab Emirates but also in the Arabian Peninsula. Dubai Zoo also happens to be the first Arabian zoo to breed the rare Chimpanzee and Arabian wild cat.It is a special place of interest and fun for tourists and the people of Dubai, especially popular with families. The zoo?s modern facilities though small, house many indigenous Arabian species, including the Arabian Wolf, which is no longer found in the wild, Gordon?s Wildcat and the world?s only captive breeding colony of Socotra Cormorants.Featured in its large aviary are regional birds of prey. Nine species of large cats and seven species of primates are on show, along with many Arabian mammals. The zoo is shortly to undergo relocation and redevelopment allowing animals to live in areas designed to be as similar to their natural environment as possible.

Sheikh Saeed-Al Maktoum's House
Location: Near Al-Shindagha Tunnel, Al-Shindagha Road, 15 minutes drive from The Fairmont Dubai. It is one of the oldest house in the city, as well as one of the best examples of traditional architecture. Built in 1896, from sandstone, the house offers sweeping views out towards the sea. Although the view has been slightly obscured by recent development, the one-time ruler of Dubai used the house to monitor trade in and out of the country for himself. The house was reopened as a museum in 1986, and also contains an exhibition illuminating Dubai's development from the 1940s to the late 1960s. Grand Mosque
Location: On Ali Ibin Ali Talib Street 15 minutes drive from The Fairmont Dubai. Transportation: Bus # 19. The Grand Mosque was only rebuilt in 1998 and boasts the city's tallest minaret at 70m (231ft). Tucked on the Bur Dubai side of the creek near the Ruler's Court, the Grand Mosque consists of nine large domes and 45 Smaller ones. This huge religious edifice can house up to 1200 worshippers. Hours of Operation: 24 hours, 7 days a week. Admission: Free, but non-Muslims are not allowed to enter Mosques in Dubai.
Jumeira Mosque
Location: On Al-Jumeira Road 10 minutes drive from The Fairmont Dubai. Transportation: Bus # 8 or 20. The Jumeira Mosque is the most photographed building in the city, and an impressive example of modern Islamic architecture. Built along medieval Fatimid lines, entirely of stones, the mosque and its two minarets are unmistakable. It is particularly attractive at night, when subtle lighting increases its dramatic effect. Hours of Operation: 24 hours, 7 days a week. Admission: Free. Generally, non-Muslims are not allowed to enter Mosques in Dubai, but can enter this one on organized tours.
Jumeirah Beach Park
Jumeirah Beach Park is ideal for a family picnic on weekends. The park has a beach front and is frequently used for swimming and sunbathing. It has picnic tables, barbecue area, small play areas for children, volleyball play area, showers and swimming areas with lifeguards. Hours: 8:00am - 10:30pm Saturday to Wednesday8:00am - 11:00pm Thursday & Friday Saturdays and Sundays are for ladies and children only!Admission : 5 Dh
