The Inn on Ferry Street is a deluxe collection of historically registered mansions in Detroit's Cultural, Medical and University district. The Inn consists of four historic mansions as well as two Carriage Houses and the encompassed urban land. These mansions were built in the late 1800's and feature Victorian architecture and style. Features of the original mansions such as grand staircases, fireplaces, and stained glass windows have been restored throughout the mansions. While historic preservation is paramount, features demanded by today's business and leisure travelers have been added to the Inn. There are 42 rooms between the four mansions and two carriage houses. The rooms will consist of superior guest rooms, deluxe guest rooms, suites and executive suites. All the rooms offer expanded cablevision, triple sheeting on beds, nightly turndown service, in-room iron/ironing board, coffee maker, complimentary newspaper and amenities basket. There will be a work area, telephones with data ports, and voicemail. Our daily complimentary deluxe continental breakfast buffet offers a wonderful variety of foods sure to please each guest. An afternoon Social Reception (Monday-Thursday) from 5pm to 7pm will offer coffee, assorted teas, light hor d'oeuvres and freshly baked cookies. Cocktails will also be made available. Shuttle service within 5 miles of the Inn will also be available for the guests. Laundry/valet will be Monday thru Friday. A bell person and security will also be on property.

Our location to Wayne State University, the College of Creative Studies, Detroit Medical Center, Detroit Institute of Art, the New Science Center, African American Museum of History, the Detroit Symphony, Michigan Opera Theater, the Fox Theater, Comerica Park, and the John Dingal VA Hospital. Coming in 2002 will be Ford Field and Compuware in 2003. There are also numerous restaurants sure to please the palates of our guests. All of the above Corporate, Medical, Universities, and Cultural as well as Entertainment and Eating venues are located within a 5-mile radius of the Inn.

Intermezzo - Fine Italian dining. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out on tiny Harmonie Park, and just around the corner lays the burgeoning theater district crowned by the Detroit Opera House and the Gem Theatre. The Whitney - The atmosphere is fantastic, elegant yet comfortable. The cuisine is among the best in the metro area. The Whitney is always a first pick for a romantic evening, especially with the Opera House nearby. It is no wonder this restaurant is at the top of everyone's list. Union Street - During the day, students and faculty frequent here. However, during the evening, theatre patrons and others in search of culture are the norm. An Art Deco style and worn hardwood floors inside hint to the rich history of the building. Traffic Jam and Snug Restaurant - The crowd is as eclectic as the menu, with before-and-after-theater business a mainstay. Serving American and fake French cuisine.

The Carriage House has a meeting room for 30-35 people, and also has audio/visual equipment available. There are 2 restrooms, one is a unisex and the other is handicap accessible. There is a counter plus cupboards for food and beverages. Outside of the Carriage House is a large patio area that can be tented and attached to Carriage House. This area (the Carriage House and patio) can comfortably accommodate 125 people. One of the mansions has a room that accommodate up to 50 people for a reception and 15-20 for a meeting. Another mansion has a reception area for 25 people. The room also has a baby grand piano and a grand staircase that would be perfect for bridal pictures or corporate awards. The meeting/reception areas in the two mansions are tastefully decorated in the Victorian era.
