Welcome to the Best Western Countryside where you can enjoy rural Wisconsin at its finest with all the amenities of a fine urban motel. We serve the Berlin, Ripon, Green Lake, Wautoma, Princeton and Montello area as well as easy access to Oshkosh and the EAA National Headquarters. We offer great golf packages that offer the finest public courses in Central Wisconsin. Try your hand at Lawsonia's 36 scenic holes or Mascoutin's 27 challenging holes that follow the Fox River. Tuscombia and White Lake courses are also a part of the golf experience that no one should miss. We offer golf packages that suit every budget. Golfing is available from April through October. Snowmobile trails lead to our back door where ample parking is available. We are a member of the Wisconsin Snowmobile Association and welcome travelers as they pass through our community. Look for the directional signs on the main trail. If boating and fishing on the Fox River piques your interest, we are less then 1 mile from a public boat launch with ample parking for your car and trailer. Our facility offers a continental breakfast, public whirlpool, exercise room, in-room coffee service, over 50 channels of cable television and free parking. We do allow pets up to 12 pounds. Sorry, no cats.

Mascoutin Golf Club:
Mascoutin Golf Club offers 27 holes of beautiful and challenging golf to serious golfers. In 1999, Mascoutin opened a new 9-hole course that truly sets it apart from other courses. Mascoutin offers one of the finest golfing facilities in all of Wisconsin. Just 2 miles from the Travelers Rest Motel, Mascoutin is one of the area's best kept secrets, a true championship, yet playable, golf course within 5 minutes from our front door. We are always pleased to suggest Mascoutin and know it will become one of your favorites. Mascoutin was designed by Edward Lawrence Packard of LaGrange, Illinois, and supervised and built by John Houdek, now of Amherst, Wisconsin. Now over 17 years old, Mascoutin has gained the maturity that only time and ongoing care and attention to detail can provide. Mascoutin has become the home of many state and area tournaments, providing challenging play in a glorious setting. Mascoutin's large, undulating greens, 60 sand traps and water on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th holes offer a challenging but fair test for golfers of all skill levels. Several thousand trees planted over the years are maturing, adding pristine beauty and an ever-changing variety of shots.
Lawsonia Golf Courses:
Opened in May 1930, Lawsonia's original eighteen, designed by William Langford, is in an inland Scottish Links course layout. Predominantly treeless, it features unusually elevated greens with steep-faced bunkers. At 6,542 yards from the middle tees, this par 72 course is rated 71.5, one of the highest in Wisconsin. Golf Digest has rated it among America's best and most affordable public courses. Recently selected as the #2 course in the state by the Milwaukee Journal, the course is a challenge to all. Opened in July of 1991, Lawsonia's newest eighteen was designed by Rocky Roquemore, associate to Joe Lee. When the Woodlands first nine opened in July 1983, the first sports writer to see it called it "potentially the best nine in the state." The second nine continues this challenge. With its wooded setting, narrow fairways, and some 80 sand traps, the natural beauty of the Woodlands will awe you as you tee up for your first drive.

Tuscumbia, the oldest golf course in Wisconsin, began operation in 1896. Through the years, many improvements have been made and a fleet of greens-keeping equipment and dedicated staff keep the course in top-notch condition. Tuscumbia's 18-hole, 6,301 yard, par 71 layout has the reputation of being one of the best manicured courses in Wisconsin, providing the golfer with a mature, park-like setting. Its rolling terrain and thousands of trees make Tuscumbia an exciting golf course for any level golfer. For the golfer's pleasure, there is a 27,000 square foot clubhouse with dining facilities, locker rooms, driving range, tennis courts, putting green and fully stocked pro shop. White Lake Golf Resort:
This challenging 18-hole course is carved out of ancient glacier-formed land with an unusual Western style apparent by exquisite natural landscaping and hilltop scenic views of rolling terrain, vast woods, sloped greens, free roaming peacocks, and spring-fed ponds. This par 72 layout has ten dog-legs, covers over 200 acres of natural Wisconsin paradise, and encompasses two separate circles of nine holes of which most provide significant elevation changes. The first nine, built in 1985, has a 515 yard hole which requires several hefty shots to get uphill on level ground, over a dense tree-lined valley to a tree-guarded green. The newest nine has more than a dozen barriers of ponds, traps, trees, and wooded areas to avoid.
